Enhanced Medication Management

I offer “enhanced” medication management services (Medication + Cognitive, Behavioral and Mindfulness Strategies) for clients living with depression, anxiety, traumatic stress, and ADHD. I recognize that sustained relief from anxiety, depression and other psychiatric symptoms usually involve more than just medication. Symptom improvement/resolution is the first step but not the only step to mental and overall wellbeing.

It’s also important to learn how to deal better with life challenges to decrease the risk of experiencing these symptoms again or at least at the same frequency and intensity. Lastly, it’s recognizing that you cannot separate your mental wellbeing from your overall wellbeing and that is going to take more than prescription medication to increase your overall wellbeing.

To that end I teach and encourage the use of cognitive, behavioral and mindfulness skills/strategies in addition to medication to help you better manage stressful moments/life events. Below are a few other things that have been shown to improve mental and overall wellbeing:

Improved sleep

Did you know that poor sleep can cause, contribute to, or make depression, anxiety, and other psychiatric symptoms worst? It can even make your symptoms more difficult to treat.

Physical Activity

Did you know that for mild depression, anxiety as well as other psychiatric symptoms research has found that a consistent exercise regime is just as effective as medication OR works along with medication to reduce your symptoms?

Improved thinking

Did you know that your thoughts can impact your mood and that there are strategies you can learn to break the thought patterns that lead to increased anxiety and crippling depression?
